In winter 2017, I had the opportunity to teach at Innopolis University in Tatarstan, a Republic of the Russian Federation. Innopolis is situated a few km away from the shores of the Volga, some 40 km from Kazan, the capital of Tatarstan, some 800km east of Moscow, and also still some 800km west of Ural. People told me “you should visit Ural, it’s not far …”
In winter 2018, just a single visit, I am less lucky with the weather, few opportunities to visit new places, but nevertheless there are a few new places …
