Nevertheless, the city is still very charming, and it is pleasant to just walk through the city, its narrow and sometimes pretty steep streets and staircases. This time, I visit for the first time Parque das Naçoes where the 1998 Expo has taken place, and I also cross for the first time the Tagus River with the boat which is part of the public transportation system. Once upon a time there must have been a crowded shipyard, now it’s crowded by tourists gathering in the street closest to the embarcadero where one finds cafes, restaurants and other tourist attractions.
